Case Study: Leila Dey – “Nike Boots” Freestyle Video
The Project
“Nike Boots” was one of Leila Dey’s earliest freestyle videos (back when she went by PG), and we wanted the visuals to match the grit, energy, and rawness of the track. It was a passion project, made for the love of the craft — no budget, no pressure, just bars and creativity.
The Approach
❄️ Shot in a Snowstorm: Filmed at night during a full-on snowstorm, using just a single light source, we embraced the cold, chaotic weather as part of the mood.
🎤 One-Take Energy: The camera stayed close, focusing on Leila’s delivery, attitude, and expression. It was all about performance and presence.
🎬 Raw & Real: No polish, no extras — just a mic, a beat, and a snowy Toronto backdrop.

The Results
The final video is unfiltered and powerful — a true snapshot of where it all began. It set the tone for Leila’s voice and style, capturing an early moment of artistic expression that still holds weight. A reminder that some of the best projects are the ones you make for the pure joy of it.
