Case Study: Meteorites – Lights Music Video
Client: Universal Music Canada
Artist & Song: Lights – Meteorites
Location: Scarborough Bluffs
The Brief
For the music video for Meteorites, we wanted to create something dreamlike and surreal, matching the melodic, ethereal feel of the song. The goal was to capture slow, flowing visuals that felt otherworldly yet natural.
Our Approach
🌊 Cinematic Location – We shot at Scarborough Bluffs, using the water and waves as a backdrop to enhance the video’s natural, atmospheric feel.

Manipulating Time for a Dreamlike Effect – To achieve the slow, floating visuals, we had Lights perform the song at a faster speed while filming, then slowed it down in post—creating a soft, surreal movement.

🔄 Singing Backwards for a Unique Look – Pushing the creative boundaries, Lights learned to sing the song in reverse, which we then flipped in post. This added an unnatural yet mesmerizing effect, making the video feel even more hypnotic and otherworldly.
The Result
A visually stunning, dreamlike music video that perfectly complements the soft, atmospheric sound of Meteorites. The combination of time manipulation, creative performance techniques, and natural elements resulted in a unique, surreal experience that stands out visually and artistically.
