The Brief
For the Best Look Lately music video, we wanted to create a visually compelling concept that reflected the song’s message about self-acceptance in a world obsessed with constant self-improvement. The video needed to be fast-paced, engaging, and thought-provoking, aligning with the band’s bold and dynamic style.
Our Approach
🎭 Transformation Through Time-Lapse – We filmed Danielle McTaggart sitting in a chair while her makeup and "look" evolved through various iconic styles, including Cyndi Lauper, David Bowie, Twiggy, and Lady Gaga. This visual storytelling method emphasized the pressures of constantly changing appearances.

Fast-Paced, Energetic Editing – The use of time-lapse created a sense of urgency, mirroring society’s relentless push for reinvention.

💡 A Return to Authenticity – The video ends with Danielle’s makeup and hair stripped back to a natural look, as Drew joins her, reinforcing the message of self-confidence and contentment over perfection.
